Chairman of the board of University of Southern Queensland visits XMU

On October 23, Mr. John Dornbusch, chairman of the board of University of Southern Queensland (USQ), Prof. Ren Yi, vice president of international affairs of USQ, Prof. Barbara DE la Harpe, executive dean of business, education, law and art department of USQ and Prof. Raj Gururajan from Information Systems visited Xiamen University (XMU) and were received by Vice-President Yang bin.

Yang welcomed the guests on behalf of XMU and introduced the history, talent training innovation and discipline construction characteristics of XMU. Yang hoped that the two universities would strengthen mutual understanding through communication, and seek for cooperation between advantage disciplines. Meanwhile, he also urged both to carry out comprehensive, multidisciplinary collaboration and exchanges. All these would contribute to the development of USQ and XMU and in general, the higher education cooperation between Australia and China.

John Dornbusch first wished the successful completion of the 100-year anniversary of XMU and congratulated XMU on its achievements in building a world-class university. Then he introduced the educational concepts and advantageous disciplines of USP and hoped to establish a comprehensive partnership between USQ and XMU through this visit.
