On December 6, 2019, the 7th "China Day" Chinese Culture Gala organized by the Overseas Education College, Xiamen University kicked off with focus on traditional Chinese culture of all kinds. The gala was held on the Xiang'an Campus which is home to over a thousand overseas students from more than 80 countries. Students coming from different cultural backgrounds brought their carefully-prepared performances including Chinese operas, Tai Chi (traditional Chinese shadow boxing) and Han Chinese costume show. The Chinese culture show was followed by a series of Chinese culture experience activities which offered international students a chance to learn more about Chinese culture. Students and faculties were attracted by Chinese paper art, calligraphy and painting, costumes and ornaments, and traditional instruments.
