Mainland-Taiwan Tsinghua Universities Seminar 2013 is Held in XMU

Mainland-Taiwan Tsinghua Universities Seminar 2013 was held in Xiamen University this morning. Xue Qikun, vice president of the Beijing Tsinghua University, and Ye Mingquan, vice president of Hsinchu, Taiwan, Tsinghua University delivered speeches respectively. Both of them viewed this seminar as a channel to promote academic researches and exchanges and emphasized the importance of strengthening cross-straits technological cooperation.

This seminar lasted for two days. Participants from Beijing THU and Hsinchu THU exchanged views on and findings in fields like Energy & Environment, Elementary Science, Nanotechnology, Information Technology, Life Science & Medical Science, Humanities & Social Science, and Management Science. 

The seminar, with its focus on current issues of biomedical science, reflects the research achievements and standards of the two sides. Contents includes: Experimental observation and experience of QAHE, Oral insulin: the prospect that patients of diabetes suffer no more from injection, Recognition of specific cancer cells by synthetic genes circuit. This seminar deepened mutual understandings and promoted academic communications; meanwhile, the friendship between the two universities had been developed. Participants of this seminar spoke highly of this conference.
